It has been 30 long years since Wayfarer sunglasses, colorful Miami Vice suits and songs with sax solos were popular ... What? All on sale at American Apparel? Okay.
It has been 30 years since Huey Lewis and the News released 'I Want A New Drug' and the video that featured Huey taking a car, a boat and a helicopter to a gig all while he was stalked by a girl with a flower in her hair. This inspired Weird Al (kids, he was like Jimmy Fallon but with accordions instead of The Roots) to record 'I Want A New Duck' and eventually Christian Bale/Patrick Bateman to wax about the deep meaning of Huey's oeuvre.
To commemorate this obviously significant cultural milestone, Funny or Die has made a fun little clip that celebrates Huey, Weird Al, plastic raincoats and the glory that was the 1980s.
