VMA Ratings Are In And Back To Double Digits

Variety is reporting a very strong ratings comeback for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, getting an average of over 10 million viewers for the broadcast. While not as high as their record 2011 audience of 12.4 million viewers, it's signifigantly higher than last year's 6.13 million tally. 

Credit can likely be evenly shared between a strong line-up, the much buzzier Brooklyn location, and better timing thanks to a move back to Sunday night...

Also impressive: Twitter reported over 18 million tweets about the VMAs that night, spiking to 306,100 Tweets Per Minute during the Miley/Thicke twerkout.
