2014 MVPA Awards Set for May 29; Entries Now Being Accepted

The annual MVPA Awards are set for May 29 in Los Angeles. Entries are now open for all music video creators. As in 2013, any music video professional can submit or vote on the awards.  See below for official announcement

The MVPA Music Video Production Association — representing production companies and directors, plus freelance workers and other music video related companies — announce the 2014 MVPA awards.  Members and non-members are welcome to participate in the Awards.

Non-members can join the MVPA or just sign-on as an event sponsor at mvpa.com/members under the following fee structure:

  • $75 — Directors, Producers, Freelance Individuals
  • $250 — Vendor, Agencies & Related Companies  
  • $750 — Production Company, Production Company Event Sponsors — (2 Voting Points) [note: Those not interested in joining the MVPA should choose the "donation" option]

Once registered, you will receive access to the MVPA Awards official submission site at http://mvpa.adbeast.com/. Video submissions cost $65 each and must be for videos released between April 2, 2013 and April 1, 2014.  Call for entry is now open thru April 5th 2014.  Awards show will take place on May 29th 2014.  Pre-sale tickets for members only will go on Sale in April.

For the third year, voting will be open to the entire professional music video community, per the approval by the MVPA board of directors. Interested voters should email [email protected] by March 31st, 2014 with a credit list or a link to your work.

  • Director of the Year (based upon three submitted videos per director; final winner chosen by MVPA Board of Directors)
  • Best Video Produced for Under $25,000
  • Best Animated Video
  • Best Direction of a Male Artist
  • Best Direction of a Female Artist
  • Best Direction of a New Artist
  • Best Direction of a Band
  • Best Directorial Debut
  • Best Adult Contemporary Video
  • Best Pop Video
  • Best Rock Video
  • Best Alternative Video
  • Best Hip Hop Video
  • Best R&B Video
  • Best Electronic Video
  • Best International Video
  • Best Art Direction
  • Best Cinematography
  • Best Choreography
  • Best Colorist
  • Best Editing
  • Best Styling
  • Best Make-Up
  • Best Hair
  • Best Computer Effects (FX done in computer)
  • Best Special Effects (FX done on scene/in camera)
  • Kratz Award for Creative Excellence/Commissioner Recognition (chosen by Board of Directors only)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award (chosen by Board of Directors only)
