Philip Andelman, director | Rachel Curl, producer | Partizan, production co | David Lanzenberg, DP | Barney Miller, editor | Description: Fort Minor's Mike Shinoda and special guests Holly Brook and Jonah Matranga perform this trip-hop tune about loss in the actual homes of actual people who are experiencing that emotion. A daughter grapples with new responsibilities after her parents divorce; a baseball player's wife takes care of the kids while he's in season; and most tragically, two parents mourn the loss of their son in Iraq. In order to totally convey their feelings, Philip Andelman gives them all individual interview segments. -- Watch a "Making Of" special at Fort Minor's Myspace page, or the video itself at Yahoo

NEWS: Death Cab Video Actor Turns Vigilante
Not only does James "P.J." Ransone have eternal indie cred for his starring role in director Laurent Briet's Death Cab For Cutie video "What Sarah Said," but he's also a hero. The actor made the news yesterday for coming to the rescue of a woman who had been attacked by a rapist.
The actor prevented the rape and chased down the assailant, who he subsequently beat with a metal bar. A story in The New York Post's Page Six column quotes the actor as saying, "I pictured my mom, my girlfriend and every girl I've ever loved and thought, 'Vengeance is mine.' " Read the full story at the New York Post.

NEW RELEASE: The Flaming Lips "Yeah Yeah Yeah Song"
The Flaming Lips
"Yeah Yeah Yeah Song" (Warner Bros.)
Traktor, directors | Rani Melendez, producer | Partizan, production co | Omer Ganai, DP | Haines Hall & Damion Clayton, editors | Description: What would you do with absolute power? Would you be malicious and evil? Would you give in to your basest desires and instincts? Probably, but chances are you wouldn't be as clever as what the production team of Traktor come up with in this video for the equally creative mad geniuses of The Flaming Lips. In "The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song," the Lips take part in a sinister plan to tape food products to people and set them loose in dangerous circumstances. For example, Krispy Kremes are attached to a Paris Hilton look-a-like and she's made her fend for herself in roomful of doughnut-loving cops. A man gets saddled with hamburger in the presence of obese men. Eventually, frontman Wayne Coyne finds himself a victim of the madness: Raw meat is stapled to his suit and he's forced to outrun a voracious werewolf. In a way, it's all way more sinister and infinitely more interesting than what any of the masochistic acts in the slasher flick Hostel, which dealt with the same "philosophical" question. -- watch "Yeah Yeah Yeah Song" in QuickTime or Windows Media
