NEW RELEASE: Dixie Chicks "Not Ready To Make Nice"
Dixie Chicks
"Not Ready To Make Nice" (Open Wide/Columbia)
Sophie Muller, director/editor | Grant Jue, producer | Oil Factory, production co | Pascal Lebegue, DP | Description: Forgive? Forget? Not a chance. Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines is still damn angry about being vilified by the media and the mainstream country audience all because she chose to voice an opinion. This heavily stylized set piece finds Maines and her bandmates still bearing the stain and the hurt. Pools, swirls and smears of viscous black ink appear throughout the clip, while attempts are made to rehabilitate Maines by making her write "to talk without thinking is to shoot without aiming" (hello, Mr. Cheney) on a blackboard like she's an unruly student and trying to medicate her into conformity and submission. -- watch "Not Ready To Make Nice"

NEW RELEASE: The Dwarves "FEFU"
The Dwarves
"FEFU" (Greedy Worldwide/Sympathy For The Record Industry)
Robert Sexton, director | Hollywood Asylum, production co | Mario Mares, editor | Description: Videos don't get much more excessive or insane than this one for The Dwarves. Yes, it features the Suicide Girls and various fetish models and yes, they are indeed naked more often than not. But, that's one of the tamer aspects of "FEFU, " which looks a bit like a Manson Family reunion. The X-rated video proudly features a crucifix, buckets of blood, violent orgy scenes and a whole lot more that you will either find cool or totally offensive. PS: Queens Of The Stone Age fans should keep an eye out for a cameo by on and off again Dwarves member/former QOTSA bassist Nick Oliveri. -- watch "FEFU" (if you dare)

NEW RELEASE: Red Hot Chili Peppers "Dani California"
Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Dani California" (Warner Bros.)
Tony Kaye, director | Rachel Curl, producer | Above The Sea, production co | Tony Kaye, DP | Peter Goddard, editor | Description: Red Hot Chili Peppers are back with a video romp through the history of rock that sees them taking on the looks and mannerisms of such artists and acts as Elvis Presley, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Parliament Funkadelic, The Sex Pistols, The Misfits and much more. Similarly, director Tony Kaye matches each period piece with the appropriate stylistic film touches. The homages to such recent fads as hair metal and Unplugged serves as a reminder that Chili Pep's have remained popular by following their own instincts, rather than emulating whatever happened to be in style. -- watch "Dani California" in QuickTime or Windows Media
