NEW RELEASE: Arctic Monkeys "The View From The Afternoon"
Arctic Monkeys
"The View From The Afternoon" (Domino)
WIZ, director| Factory Films UK (Oil Factory in the US), production co | Description:
Pity the drummer. Always forced to sit in the back behind everyone else. The butt of nearly every musician joke. Occasionally forced to have silly nicknames like The Cat. Well, have no pity for Arctic Monkeys drummer Matthew "The Cat" Helders, who is [not] the star of this beautiful b&w video. Helders sits at his kit and proceeds to bash out the drum parts to this rocker from a neighborhood playground. School girls stop by to admire his prowess. His bandmates can barely contain their jealousy. We can do nothing, but bow down to the fact that this is the first video to ever treat a drummer like he sits on a true throne. Correction: Video Static occasionally doesn't pay full attention to what he watches. As indicated by my hastily inserted parenthetical/editorial correction above, the drummer seen at the kit is not Matt Helders. It's someone else. So, disregard everything in the above review, except for my enthusiasm for this band and video. And, if you really like this band and want more more more, you should visit the Artic Monkeys fansite Mardy-Bum. -- watch "The View From The Afternoon" in QuickTime, Real or Windows Media
