NEW RELEASE: The Panic Channel "Why Cry"
The Panic Channel
"Why Cry" (Capitol)
Robert Hales, director | Shelli Jury, producer | HSI, production co | Ken Mowe, editor | Description: "Why Cry" when you can just get revenge? That's the situation in this debut video from The Panic Channel — which is essentially the latter-day Jane's Addiction, but with newcomer Steve Isaacs replacing Perry Farrell with a more polished, traditional voice and persona. The video starts with a woman viewing an amateur porno flick starring her boyfriend and a dumb slut. After exorcising some of the anger and sadness by creating a huge multimedia mural — which actually took six full days for the art department to construct — she decides to put the footage to good use by uploading it to a website for the whole world to see. -- watch "Why Cry"

The Academy Is...
"The Phrase That Pays" (Fueled By Ramen)
Marvin Scott Jarrett, director | Ted Robbins, producer | ToyStory, production co | Lenny Mesina, editor | Description: Insanity is all about perception, so there's really no point in trying to make out exactly who is mentally ill in this gleefully absurd and melodramatic video for The Academy Is.... Instead, I recommend that you enjoy the twists and the turns that fittingly describe both the video and this band. -- watch "The Phrase That Pays" (YouTube link)
