Grouplove "Shark Attack" (Cameron Duddy, dir.)

Every great trick carries the illusion of risk, but things could get truly dangerous when a magician switches Grouplove with two extremely dissimilar bands — one Mariachi, the other Ugandan metal — much to the displeasure of all involved.

PS: That's John Hawkes as the magician. Depending on your cultural level, you know him as either an award winning film actor, or as Kenny Power's brother on Eastbound & Down.

WATCH IT: Fanfarlo "Harold T. Wilkins"

The hands of Fanfarlo are alive with the rhythms of this song, dashing about and pulsating in some indie rock version of jazz hands. That kind of minimalistic, yet innocent joyous approach is also evident in the other aspects of this video directed by Alma Har'el on-location in the woods of Lake Placid, NY. There's shadowplay at night and then a fitting coda in which the drab woodlands steadily burst into full Fall foliage. --> watch "Harold T. Wilkin" (Stereogum)

WATCH IT: Annuals "Confessor"

North Carolina indie rock collective Annuals tap Terry Gilliam's storyboard artist and conceptual/special effects designer Daniel Auber to bring an adventurous treatment by the band's own Zack Oden to animated life. This cartoon clip is an old-fashioned medieval storybook tale with castles, mysterious omens, swordplay and even a Centaur.  --> watch "Confessor" via MTV2 Subterranean Premiere
