Camerimage Cinematography Festival Winners

The annual Camerimage confab wrapped up in Poland this past week, celebrating the best in cinematography.

Winners for the music video competition are:

Best Music Video

DJ Snake & Lil Jon "Turn Down For What" (Daniels, dir.) Larkin Seiple, cinematographer

Best Cinematography In A Music Video:

Paolo Nutini "Iron Sky" (Daniel Wolfe, dir.) Robbie Ryan, cinematographer

The festivals main honor went to legendary director Jonas Akerlund, who received the Camerimage Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Music Videos.

Paolo Nutini "Iron Sky" (Daniel Wolfe, dir.)

Opiated masses on the verge of destruction and despair, under the watchful eye of a Panopticon and separated from the leaders of the pleasure class. A horrible, dystopian future filled largely with anguish, pain, madness and death. But even a simple barber confused to be a dictator can see that there's always hope and something to fight more.

"Iron Sky" is maybe the best sci-fi masterpiece you see this year, and likely the shortest, as it delivers epicness and emotion on a scale far beyond the scope of a "normal" music video.
