WATCH IT: Jamie Lidell "Another Day"

Soulful brit Jamie Lidell walks on lighted cubes down an empty street, a move that recalls Micheal Jackson's stroll through a deserted part of town in "Billie Jean." That's how this new clip from director Timothy Saccenti starts and it's not surprisingly where the familiar scenes end. The saintly and slick Lidell offers a briefcase of lips to a woman with no mouth, a handful of ears to woman who has none, and glasses (eyeballs included) to a woman without eyes. So, even though he may have smoothed out his sound this gospel-tinged piano track, his sensibilities — and Saccenti's visual daring — are as off kilter as ever. NEW RELEASE: Animal Collective "Peacebone"
Photographer/director Timothy Saccenti follows up his acclaimed Battles video "Atlas"with another ultra-modern gem. Instead of the straight-up performance that was "Atlas," this video is straight-up narrative. And a strange narrative at that. Set inside a drug and/or technology induced hyperreality, a girl and an alien meet in a barn and go cavorting through the countryside like two young lovers. The climax will have you flashing back to Alien, clutching your chair and looking for a place that sells "Peacebone" Halloween costumes. (review by Kevin Holy) --> watch "Peacebone"

Description: "Strangely beautiful" is a good way to describe everything about CocoRosie and their video for "Noah's Ark." 1: The sisters of CocoRosie have voices that fall somewhere between Bille Holiday and the Cryptkeeper. 2: The song sounds a little like a dusty antique 78 RPM record that was found in a Parisian attic, but remixed by a cutting edge trip-hop producer. 3. The video is a steady stream of hallucinatory and dazzling visual effects. Lights dance about the screen like raindrops upon the pavement.
Watercolor rainbows and clouds hover over a playground. Neon skulls and
stars dot the sky, while blinking lights form faces, giraffes and other images. There's also a carousel and a floating shoe that's slowly headed for a waterfall and much much much more. Check out the dreamlike clip, courtesy of their label Touch & Go.
