Director Aella Jordan-Edge’s first collaboration with North London newcomers Thinkpiece is a
trippy exploration through a young woman’s psyche. While Thinkpiece’s first music video Voice
For Us played on themes of media and hypnosis, You're People You're Evil dives fully into an
addictive digital nightmare.
Grief stricken after a public break-up, our protagonist wanders into an underground arcade and
finds a VR headset. This technology gives her a chance to see through the eyes of, and at times
control, her boyfriend who is played by lead singer and Thinkpiece frontman Callum Finn. A
disorientating and playful fantasy ensues as she proceeds to get fucked up, explore her
newfound male body and escape from her reality.
Shot on the fly around Central and East London the camera team used a Kryten Helmet Rig to
capture the POV shots as realistically as possible. However because of it’s heavy weight DOP
Stefan and the other members of the band shared the fun of wearing it, we’ll leave it to you to
guess who did the pissing in the street! Band and crew also make cameo appearances
throughout so see who you can spot doing dodgy dealings...
Thinkpiece are Callum Finn, Jamie Purdie and Milo Craig. They have been dedicated musicians
together in various groups since meeting at school and have been playing in this lineup over the
past year. Having released two songs the band was approached by 2016 breakout act Haelos for
support slots which led the band to play soldout shows at the Battersea Arts Centre and
legendary club Heaven in Charing Cross. You’re People You’re Evil was mixed and produced by
Dorian Lutz.
