Bary Center is the long running project of Mark Williams, an experiemental electronic music and video producer based in Appalachia USA. Since 2012, BC has released 10 full length cassettes and digital albums on labels around the world, hosted a monthly radio show for Mexico's Internet Public Radio, been a featured guest on the UK's Resonance FM, been featured in countless DJ mixes, and toured the United States underground techno and experiemental scenes extensively.
In the spring of 2018, BC was awarded a Creative Discovery Grant from Marshall University to produce a music video. In the video, we dive deep inside the mind of Elizabeth Bee as she traverses through haunted, psychedelic landscapes, warding off masked inner demons along the way. The concept of the video parallels the issues of mental health struggles with environmental destruction. These issues hit close to home for all Appalachians, as the region is both the epicenter for the US opioid crisis and home to many devastating environmetal practices.
The track "Image Thing" will be included on Bary center's upcoming debut LP "Dystopia is for Lovers" out spring 2019. The vinyl release will feature six tracks of warped, unsetting techo. Thank you for reading and watching and enjoy "Image Thing".
