Visual effects is attempted to be used here in a subtle way to portrait the sleep of awareness. Grammy nominee Katie Herzig approached director Shih-Ting Hung in 2012 with her title track, 'Waking Sleep,' siting it is a political track she wrote several years ago. The idea behind the song is the fact that we are drifting in between the lucid stream of consciousness between good and evil : The bright side of approaching for the light for life, and the dark side of being withdrawn by ignorance. Hung constructed the fabric as a darker side of human nature and told a visual story of such concept.
