Gorgon City x D Double E "Hear That" (Salim Adam, dir.)

Gorgon City x D Double E - 'Hear That'

This is the latest work from STADIUM, a music video directed by Salim Adam for the latest single, 'Hear That', by Gorgon City ft D Double E. It was all shot on location in London on a 16mm Kodak 7207 250D and Ultra 16s, with AR Steadicam and a few LEDs thrown in. Only 6 rolls of film were used, which was challenging for the director, but forced him to be more considered with his shots.

Salim Adam - DIRECTOR STATEMENT: 'I wanted to create a real ‘feel good’ factor this summer for Gorgon City’s latest track, ‘Hear That’. Shooting on 6 rolls of 16mm film meant that we only had a limited amount of film stock to produce. This created a very strong discipline for the project, and gave us a better understanding of what we could and could not shoot. For the music video, I intended to construct a fun, vibrant, and yet raw sense of London, documenting young adults as they played out a day in their lives in the inner city. D Double E playing an ice cream man in a van was the perfect catalyst for this.'

David Wright - DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY STATEMENT: 'Shooting on a sunny day with huge clouds passing over every 10 minutes is always a pain when on film. We had to make a few stop adjustments on the fly without time for metering. Film is so wonderful that even if you get it wrong you can still get great results (mainly through over exposing rather than under).'
