WATCH IT: Liars "Scissor"

Liars frontman Angus Andrew is a survivor, floating along in a life raft in the middle of the ocean. Problem is, it keeps filling up with stones that come splashing out of the water and into his vessel. Escaping to a nearby boat doesn't offer any respite from the stoning problem. In fact, things only get much more hectic. Moral of the story: Sometimes you can't escape a sinking ship. --> watch "Scissor" [note: Video Static provides music video promotion services for Mute Records]

WATCH IT: Vampire Weekend "Giving Up The Gun" (The Malloys, dir.)

There's a whole lot of random going on here, but nothing that goes over the line (so to speak). Directing duo The Malloys set up Vampire Weekend in a futuro space-age tennis center — one that kind of reminds me of the racquetball court from the M/J Jackson "Scream" video" — where a girl decides to prove her worth against a steady stream of contenders. Randomness? Well, there's the Japanese intro title, Joe "one of the Bros."Jonas and actor Jake Gyllenhaal as opponents, RZA from the Wu-Tang as a judge, and Lil Jon as a coach who helps our champion get crunked up for victory.

WATCH IT: Passion Pit "Little Secrets" (Timothy Saccenti, dir.)

If it wasn't a Friday afternoon, I might have some clever joke involving the Unknown Comic. Instead I have this: Passsion Pit perform. Timothy Saccenti directs. Band looks great. Concept is simple and fits the song's refrain; It involves a crowd that gets higher and higher as the song progresses. They start with their heads in brown bags and finish up in a frenzied bacchanalian romp that's kind of like New Years Eve in Times Square on Ecstasy. --> watch "Little Secrets"
