Daughn Gibson "Daddy I Cut My Hair" (Matt Amato, dir.)

Just like the sights in William Tyler's Tennessee video "The Sleeping Prophet," “Daddy I Cut My Hair” was filmed in the Appalachians, this time around Pennsylvania. And like in that video, here Matt Amato gives you a real sense of what much of the area is about: beautiful, cold hills, somewhat-busy roadways, and the sometimes-distant Appalachian hospitality.

All We Are "Honey" (Never Ending Fun, dir.)

Comment from the directors: Perfectly normal day in coastal Ireland.

In the words of All We Are, the video for ‘Honey’ “tells the story of a ghost observing the life of its former lover and the restiveness of the subject matter, juxtaposed with the upbeat nature of the tune, was captured perfectly by director Stephan Agnew. The Lynchian world of the ‘Honey’ video has a macabre and hellish feel that's tense and unsure and gives a feel for the purgatory like existence the ghost is living."

OMAR LINX "The Wild" (Peter Huang, dir.)

A riot spills into something even more destructive in this deftly animated video.

Peter Huang, director: "'The Wild' is a visual essay, semi-inspired by films like Baraka. I was really intrigued by how the film, through editing and structure, can wordlessly present a philosophical point of view. I attempted something similar with Omar's video, basing it around ideas of violence and its relation to the natural world. The use of animation I think is a good way to present these graphic images without making the audience shut off instantly."
