Take one underappreciated rapper, throw in some news clips, build it around a singular concept and you've got a recipe for a clip that should get people watching and talking. Just ask Ice Cube. The formula also works for Koch artist Skillz, whose annual recap of the year in urban music was finally augmented with a well-deserved video. The Virginia rapper reminds us how many ridiculous things can happen to famous people in 12 months, while the video uses file footage and hilarious recreations of the year's shakers, movers and losers. Director Mr. Roboto brings a polish to Skillz DIY-style, but leaves the rough edges sharp enough to cut a pompous celebrity down to size.
