WATCH IT: Julian Plenti "Games For Days"

Julian Plenti Games For Days Julian Plenti is to Interpol frontman Paul Banks as Chris Gaines is to Garth Brooks. Actually, that's unfair. Think of Plenti as more of a David Bowie alter-ego along the lines of Ziggy Stardust or Alladin Sane,in that there's no elaborate backstory and no great effort to disguise that Banks is really Plenti. "Games For Days" retains much of Interpol's signature sound, so much so that it could probably fit on any of the band's albums without much reworking. The video takes place at a mysterious Hotel that seems to have much in common with the notorious Hotel Chelsea, with its sordid history. Plenti/Banks and a galpal played by Emily Haines of Metric check into the hotel to resurrect the spirits of a tragic event there — think Nancy Spungeon getting bludgeoned by Sid Vicious — as director Javier Aguilera works a visual palette that's somewhere between Se7en and Barton Fink. --> watch "Games For Days"
