Maybe the real difference between new metal and old metal is that all the magic and evil is now ironic? Or was I just too young to realize that Eddie and King Diamond were kinda silly? Well, whatever the case may be, Mastodon is clearly doing it for the kids. The shaggy metal act lives up to the Wooly Mammoth connotations of its band name with this adventuring video. Director Roboshobo treats the action like a Sinbad B-movie (the sailor, not the comic), throwing in such elements as an abominable snowman, a frozen caveman rocker, a magical Flying V guitar and even a little band-on-band cannibalism. Think of it like Tenacious D's "Wonderboy" video, but not quite so serious. --> watch "Divinations"
