It's not a music video so much as a creation myth, following Kanye West's creative life from birth to rebirth, with the scantily-plumaged Selita Ebanks as a fallen Phoenix who (probably) symbolizes the bouts of creative fury that have defined and sometimes threatened to destroy the rapper's career. In some ways, this episodic 34 minute art flick — matched with various songs from Kanye's upcoming full-length My Dark Twisted Fantasy — strikes me a bit like Splash but with a birdwoman instead of a Mermaid, and with a cinematic eye that's more akin to Fellini and Kubrick than Ron Howard. But, to be real: In terms of artistic audaciousness, Kanye is indeed on-fire and untouchable. --> watch "Runaway"
