Making a lyric video is essentially admitting your ambitions are limited. Usually made quick, on the cheap and with the mantra, "Don't worry, it's just a lyric video."
That's, of course, a waste — even if the piece is just a stand-in designed to buy you a few weeks until your amazing, fancy, sure-to-be viral video is ready for release.
But things could be better... And that's what this new feature LYRICAL is all about, spotlighting Lyric Videos that are able to more than just bridge a release gap, but actually move the needle...
First up is Meital Dohan, who you might recognize from her role on Weeds, or previous singles/videos, including "Yummy" with Sean Kingston...
"Give Us Back Love" has director Justin Purser shooting for a trifecta with three online faves: A lyric video, an animal video, and sex (don't worry: it's animal on animal, and it's censored). It boasts a better concept and production values than most proper videos. And a monkey.
