DOLMAN "On Stoney Ground" (Tia Salisbury, dir.)

'On Stoney Ground' - DOLMAN

The art of war and rugby...

'Fyra Films' have finished work on a promo to accompany the debut track from DOLMAN; 'On Stoney Ground'. Directed by Tia Salisbury, the film's narrative reflects the war references found within the track and makes for poignant viewing as the world marks the centenary of the start of WW1, on July 28th, 2014.

With a promo described by James Endeacott as 'beautiful and harrowing at the same time. The song's lyrics are inspired by Turner Prize-winning Steve McQueen's artwork 'Queen and Country' and the video is a dramatisation of the lost generation of WW1 pal’s battalions. The action follows a young rugby team as they complete a bruising training session, before their devotion to sport and country leads to tragic consequences.

DOLMAN is a new project featuring two familiar faces: Scott Hendy works with Domino signings ‘Malachai’, while Ben Salisbury is perhaps best known through an association with Geoff Barrow on DROKK. Together, the pair have constructed an album of left field, cut 'n' paste productions. Utilising all manner of collaborators. New cut 'On Stoney Ground (Pt. 1)' features guest vocals from Danny Coughlan, aka Crybaby.
