PRAQ! (finally a band which sounds like its name)
Challenging the aesthetics of Punk, Jazz and Breakbeat-Electro! A pan-European three-piece consisting of Saxophone, bass, drums and electronics, PRAQ! are the first band to ever record in a nuclear power plant, under a 20m high highway bridge, in a shipping container or on a frozen lake. Whaling horns, throbbing bass-lines, stomping beats with echoes of Battles, !!! (chk chk chk) and Lucky Chops, but with a sound all of their own that defies the very genres they tip-toe.
PRAQ!'s debut single 'Mystification' eases you in to their world of organised chaos with a steadily paced stomp, complete with a dizzying, abstract video by notable photographer & film maker, Lisa Truttman.
The single also features a darker dub assault remix courtesy of Polish world-dub duo Earth Is Flat, and the exclusive B-side 'Run Away', featuring the vocals of Gianna Charles.
'Mystification' is released digitally on Friday 31st March 2017. 'STROM', the debut album by PRAQ! will follow later in the Spring on Bit-Phalanx Music.
