REMINDER: CMJ Video Panel

If you're in NYC and registered for CMJ, please come by the music video panel tomorrow, Tuesday October 15 at NYU's Frederick Loewe Theater (map). Things kick off at 2:15.Here are the full details. Hope to see you there.

MUSIC VIDEOS: BACK IN EFFECTThe proliferation of on-demand services and sites such as YouTube have induced a major music video come-back. This panel includes video directors, artists and video industry professionals.

BOOKED: Carolina Chocolate Drops - Wendell S. Greene, director

It's an old-timey banjo/fiddle cover of the 2001 Blu Cantrell "Hit Em Up Style (Oops)" hit by newcomers Carolina Chocolate Drops, a young trio dedicated to traditional Piedmont Stringband Music (aka an African American version of Old Time Music).

SHOT: DJ Khaled - Dayo & Rush, director

With nearly every hip-hop artist in Atlanta for this weekend's BET Hip Hop Awards, the time was right for another run at breaking the record for most cameos in a video. In addition to all eight featured performers, this new DJ Khaled clip also boasts walk-ons from Swizz Beatz, KRS-One, Plies, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Yung Berg, Yung Joc, Joell Ortiz, Webbie and on and on. Not present for the occasion: T.I., who was nabbed in an ATF bust.
