Cyriak doesn't make traditional music videos, but that's the easiest description for what he does (unless you want to go with his preferred tag of "creative brain-spillages," which is a bit more accurate). "Because" is his latest clip, a self-portrait of sorts, taking a random photo of his face and creating a 3D universe that's both absurd and amazing. --> watch "Because"
Moones are marooned on an iceberg, with nothing to do but rock the time away while sending out some SOS calls. Everything goes wrong — frostbite, spontaneous combustion, a sharpshooting lynx — but director Peter Sluszka depicts everything in a flurry of creative, lo-fi energy that being stranded seems like a fun option. Be sure to watch the Making Of, which is as fun as the video itself. --> watch "Better Energy"
Is this metal gone meta? Directing duo Daniels present a series of video mishaps — all under the guise of video "rough cut" — to match this musical tale of Tenacious D and the epic flop that was their movie/sophomore album, The Pick of Destiny. "Rize Of The Fenix" finds The 'D undeterred, rising higher than ever before to battle demons and conquer the rock landscape. Even if nothing goes as planned — there are missing shots, unrendered effects, green screen disasters and in-jokes that won't go beyond the production geek community — it's perfect as it is. --> watch "Rize of The Fenix"
Hip-Hop Hotel Bacchanalia, but the opposite of what that phrase might usually signify. Kool A.D. of Das Racist plays host in a low-rent motel room, as a galpal plays with a chicken and rolls around with a money-stuffed diablo piñata. --> watch "La Piñata"
Nicely framed performance under a cluster of buzzy flourescent lights in this b/w video for Now Now directed by Picture Machine Media. --> watch "Thread"
