The metaphor of being a human elevator — "I take you down... spit you out" — gets shifted to mysterious and odd building that hopefully only exists in the dark shaft cracked mind. The viewer gets deposited on various floors, each one seemingly is odder than the next. Floor 11 freaks me out the most, but maybe you're more afraid of elderlies with chainsaws. Not sure exactly where on the "actor fronting a rock band" continuum this effort from James Franco belongs — best guess: Better than Keanu, not as dedicated as Leto — but I daresay the video he directed for it grabbed my attention with its overlaid kaleidoscopic shots of Summer lovers. --> watch "Love In The Old Days" (via Rolling Stone)
