Live Video Performance: Miwa Matreyek, Myth and Infrastructure

Acclaimed visual artist Miwa Matreyek will perform the continuation of her Myth and Infrastructure series. Matreyek premiered this multimedia piece at the TED Conference in Oxford in July of 2010, impressing critics and attendees with her masterful artistry as she used her shadow to interact with her projected animation.

World Premiere: Brett Simon, Crooked Arms

Brett Simon’s new short film is an affecting social commentary on how mobile phones interfere with our everyday reality.

MGMT “Congratulations” | Directed by: Tom Kuntz

Tom Kuntz will be present to speak about his first video in two years, the poignant, brand new “Congratulations” for MGMT, which features the band trekking through the desert with a creature designed by Where the Wild Things Are art director, Sonny Gerasimowicz.

Cee-Lo “No One’s Gonna Love You” | Directed by: Skinny

Filmmakers David Hache, Marc-Edouard Leon and Dori Oskowitz, collectively known as Skinny, will be sharing their experiences with their latest work for Cee-Lo, “No One’s Gonna Love You,” which follows a summer fling from its honeymoon phase to the point where reality sets in.

Yeasayer “Madder Red" | Directed by: Andreas Nilsson

In Andreas Nilsson's new video for Yeasayer's "Madder Red," Kristen Bell plays an all-American actress struggling to dote on Bommel, a fading and ghastly-looking creature under her care.

The Hundred in the Hands “Pigeons” | Directed by: Daniels

Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan, a.k.a. Daniels, will present their music video “Pigeons” for The Hundred in the Hands, in which a drunk woman ducks out of a party vomiting sparks and experiencing her intoxication in oddly physical ways.

The evening will also feature new videos by Charles de Meyer for Amon Tobin and Kristof Luyckx + Michèle Vanparys for Hermanos Inglesos, as well as new shorts A Beard Film by Ian Robertson and Words by Everynone in collaboration with NPR and WNYC's Radiolab.
