NEW RELEASE: MxPx "Shut It Down"

Mxpx_shut While MxPx never lived up to early indications that they would be the Christian rock band to seamlessly slide unnoticed into the great secular airwaves — an honor that I guess wound up going to Creed, with Switchfoot and Relient K earning honorable mention — the band has evolved from teenage punk-poppers into thirtsomething music industry survivors who have found themselves back at the record label, Tooth & Nail, which originally signed the group. "Shut It Down" doesn't deviate from the musical formula of non-nonsense West Coast punk much at all, thereby making it perfectly sensible that the video is similarly solid, yet not showy. MxPx rock out in the foreground of the L.A. skyline and bust apart TVs and computers to match the song's message that virtual friends and communities ain't quite the same as the real deal. --> watch "Shut It Down"
