Nominees for the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards were announced this week. Unlike MTV's Video Music Awards, the EMAs celebrate music and recording artists, as opposed to just music videos. In fact, the lone video category is Best Video, with the following nominees:
- Gnarls Barkley "Crazy" — directed by Robert Hales of HSI
- Justice Vs Simian "We Are Your Friends" — directed by Rozan & Schmeltz of Partizan
- Kanye West "Touch The Sky" — directed by Chris Milk of @radical.media
- OK Go "A Million Ways" — directed by OK Go
- Pink "Stupid Girls" — directed by Dave Meyers of @radical.media
The MTV Europe Music Awards is scheduled for November 2 in Copenhagen with host Justin Timberlake.
