Director X on Rick Ross "Diced Pineapples" and Drake "HYFR"

Director X continues his roll of confident music videos with "Diced Pineapple," a tropical excursion with Rick Ross, Drake, Wale and lots of ladies. It's also a fantastic A/B comparison with his award-winning "HYFR" video for Drake, which is very deserving of a re-Bar Mitzvah.

Director X, director:  "The island and the track came together. So, tropical paradise and a song about a girl, the video kind of writes itself. It was my first time shooting in Aguilla, which isn't a production town, so we had to fly everyone in. We shot at the Viceroy hotel and a couple of villas. We had a partnership with the government of Anguilla, so they were really helpful."

4x3: Autchre "Second Bad Vilbel" (Chris Cunningham, dir.)

It'd be fair to ask what you're watching. It's like a bootlegged analog recording of something futuristic and digital. Something tiny, yet seemingly massive. And evil.

"Second Bad Vilbel" [1996] for electronic act Autechre is director Chris Cunningham's first video. It's an uncanny mix of frenzied static, punctuated by bursts of ethereal bliss, showcasing an animatronic CG creature that also looks practically natural at times.

WATCH IT: FORWARD

FORWARD is a new song performed by Ne-Yo and Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik, with Herbie Hancock, Delta Rae and Natasha Bedingfield. FORWARD is also the Obama campaign slogan and this video is certianly in the same mode as "Yes, We Can," incorporating the President's voice and image, and co-written by Fred Goldring, who executive produced that award-winning video.
