NEWS: NY Minute Film Fest Call for Entries

Are you a one minute man? If so, you are in luck. New York edit/new media production house Convergence is presenting the 2005 New York Minute Film Festival. This online fest will honor the best short form (and by short form, they mean 60 seconds or less) work in five categories: Music Video, Animation, Experimental, Drama and Comedy. Online viewers will winnow the field to a total of 50 finalists (10 in each category) and then a panel of judges will decide the overall winners. Judges confirmed include directors Joel Schumacher and Leon Gast, IFC Film acquisitions exec Kelly DeVine and film producer Eric Watson.

SHOT: Sabertooth Tiger - Michael Grodner, director

Los Angeles indie rock band Sabertooth Tiger and director Michael Grodner collaborated on a video to highlight working conditions in Argentina. The final cut will mix performance with clips from director Avi Lewis and No Logo author Naomi Klein's documentary The Take. The film chronicles Argentina's economic collapse in 2001 and its aftermath.
