NEWS: Videostatic @ CMJ - Friday, Oct 22 @ 11a

If you are in NYC for the annual CMJ conference, please drop by the panel I'll be moderating. It'll touch on music videos, the internets and lots more.

There's More Than Radio; Build Your Audience OnlineIt's no secret that New Media is shaping the music industry. This panel will demonstrate ways to promote and market your music, tours and digital downloads by creating a presence online with compelling music videos... and make some money to boot!

Panelists:

WATCH IT: David Crowder Band "SMS"

All a band needs for a creative music video is a Lite-Brite. And the insanity drive to spend 2,150 hours assembling approximately 700k Lite-Brite pegs into over 1,200 separate images. Created and shot entirely by the David Crowder Band, the video features no CGI or effects at all. Just lots and lots of pegs (and time). PS: Lite-Brite does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this video, though I hope they at least sent a thank-you card to the band. --> watch "SMS (Shine)"

WATCH IT: Architeq "In The Cosmos" (Chopsy, dir.)

A gang of old vinyl records are on a mission in this video directed by Chopsy aka director Darren Robbie of famed Wallace & Gromit animation house Aardman. The records roll through the city of Brostol, climbing fences, sliding through walls as if they're circular saw blades and generally stop at nothing to get to their final destination. --> watch "Into The Cosmos"
