WATCH IT: Decemberists "Why We Fight" (Aaron Stewart-Ahn, dir.)

The video for The Decemberists "This Is Why We Fight" plays down whatever militaristic fight song jingostic rah-rah bullshit that you might want to imagine. Instead, the video stars a group of bedraggled kids playing out a story of oppression and passive resistance. Consider it a higher-stakes version of "Sixteen Military Wives," the last video Aaron Stewart-Ahn directed for the band, in which a model UN devolves into chaos. --> watch "This Is Why We Fight"

WATCH IT: Headless Horsemen "Wavlngth" (Ben Razavi + Nate Baston, dir.)

This video for Headless Horsemen looks like an old VHS portrait of serial killers as young children. It's creepy, yet strangely innocent. --> watch " Wavlngth"

WATCH IT: TV On The Radio "Nine Types Of Light" (various dir.)

A video for each track off new album Nine Types Of Light, connected together and available online as a sort of TV On The Radio movie. Each clip boasts a different director with TVOTR singer Tunde Adebimpe serving as an executive director of sorts, stitching them together with connective tissue that includes clips with seemingly random NY'ers. Adebimpe and TVOTR were directly involved in several of the videos, collaborating with a director pools that veered from friends to filmmakers they admired.
