Time stands still and becomes a three-dimensional zone in this Stone Sour video that stems from a unique collaboration between The Beta Movement, Skulley FX and P.R. Brown. --> watch "Hesitate"
Beta Movement, co-directors: "The lyrics made us think of those frozen moments we all look back at, like where you can examine a critical turning point in a relationship and just want to live in the details for a moment. We wanted to see these frozen moments over a period of time.
We’d been looking to work with Skulley FX because there was so much complex post involved, and on top of it all, we were looking to do it on a budget. We knew it had been done right on the Philips ‘Carousel’ spot – with motion control, but Skulley came up with an approach, that although radical and untested, would allow us to do it with steadicam and not the cumbersome and costly route of motion control. Given the complexity, we brought on Skulley FX as co-directors to help us oversee the delivery of the materials in the treatment that they needed for post-production. Skulley FX was also instrumental in turning up the creativity on the shots. PR Brown had been working with Stone Sour for several videos, and they just felt comfortable having him onset for this huge video. PR listened really well to what we needed, and was extremely helpful. He also did a solid edit for us."
