Marianas Trench is a pop/punk act from Vancouver, Canada."Shaketramp" is the band's new single/video and while I wouldn't go quite so far as to proclaim it on par with one of the earth's greatest geographic wonders, it is a bit deeper than what's usually called for in this genre. The opening vocal harmonies could have been taken from Brian Wilson's Smile sessions, while the visual accompaniment is a nice homage to the operatic sections of Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody" video. Things then shift to something a bit more standard sounding, but the video maintains an old-fashioned giddiness that should resonate with fans of Blink-182, Panic!
