Thom Yorke
"Harrowdown Hill" (XL)
Chel White, director | Tsui Ling Toomer & Isham Martin , producer | Bent Image Lab, production co | Kelly McClean, editor | Description: Director Chel White presents a bird's eye view of both the peaceful countryside and the chaotic city in this video for Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke. The bird in question is depicted as both through light-streaked animation and time-lapse photography involving drawings of the bird and those willing to hold it aloft. Things finally culminate with footage of the singer sinking deep into a body of water. All in all, a nice match to a song that is equally inscrutable. PS: All of the aerial footage was created through an effect that the producers dub "Smallgantics." -- watch "Harrowdown Hill"
