Even in these days of slim pickin budgets, Hype Williams still pulls out more creativity and style than almost any other director around. As with his early career-defining Craig Mack vid, "Flava in Ya Ear (remix)," Hype places Twista and Pharrell in front of a cyc and lets their pimped-out personalities shine for "Give It Up." Hype updates the "Flava" concept with "Gold Digger" colors, lighting, and girls dressed in classy, yet revealing Judy Jetson worthy clothes. The lyrical subject matter of "fly girls" is a bit cliche, but Hype pushes that aside with some masterful glamor setups which one-up the '50s pin-up styling of Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rolston's "Candyman" by matching the sweet-looking girls with some actual sweets.
