Film critic Armond White will explore the work of acclaimed director Hype Williams as part of The 2006 New York Video Festival, co-presented by the Film Society and Lincoln Center. The 90-minute program "Believe The Hype: An Auteur Study Of Hype Williams — The Best Who Ever Did It" promises to be
"the first in-depth auteur study of a music video artist, exploring Williams’ early work, career highlights, his collaborations with artists including Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes and featuring a special analysis of Williams’ radically re-imagined split-screen montage."
Believe The Hype is being held Wednesday, July 26, 8:30pm, at the Walter Reade Theater. Tickets are $10 and available through Filmlinc.com. Discounts are available for students and Film Society of Lincoln Center members.
