Metallica 3D Movie Gets Distro Deal And Release Date

Metallica moves its 3D movie closer to a release, announcing a distribution deal with Picturehouse and an August 9 theatrical release date, with a confirmed Netflix run to follow.

Metallica Through The Never is directed by Nimród Antal (Kontroll, Predators) and mixes concert footage largely shot over three nights in Vancouver last year and narrative segments starring actor Dane DeHaan as a band roadie.

In other words: No, it's not a sequel to Some Kind Of Monster. And, yes, it sounds like it'll make a whole lot more sense than The Song Remains The Same.
