The Music Video Production Association (MVPA) has begun soliciting for entries for the 2006 MVPA Awards Show. All entries must be submitted through a special section of the MVPA Awards site, where you can upload a 90 second sample of your video for consideration in three overarching categories of awards — musical genre, directorial and technical — which contains a total of 25 different sub-categories. There is a $60 charge ($35 for MVPA members) for each of the three main categories to which a video is submitted. The deadline for submissions is February 10. Full information and instructions can be found at mvpaawards.com.
The 2005 MVPA Awards honored director Mark Romanek's "99 Problems" video for Jay-Z as the Video of The Year and Francis Lawrence as Director Of The Year. A full list of winners is at mvpa.com.
