Sad news filtering in that Gideon Baws, a co-founder of the creative collective Shynola and an accomplished director/animator/illustrator, has unexpectedly passed away. He was 33.
Shynola's best known video work includes:
- Radiohead "Pyramid Song"
- Blur "Crazy Beat"
- Rapture "House Of Jealous Lovers"
- Beck "E-Pro"
- Junior Senior "Move Your Feet"
- Quannum "I Changed My Mind"
- plus a series of Radiohead blips
Resfest founder Jonathan Wells — who selected Shynola's short film The Littlest Robo for the 1999 version of the digital film festival — has posted a memoriam at his blog flux.net. Further details on Baws' passing at UK video blog PromoNews.
