NEWS: 2009 Grammy Music Videos

Amidst all the musical revue that was the 2009 Grammy ceremony, a few awards were doled out — ok, mostly off-camera — including a couple for music video.

Winner, Best Short Form Music Video:

Weezer "Pork And Beans"
Mathew Cullen, video director; Bernard Rahill, video producer

Winner, Best Long Form Music Video:

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers "Runnin' Down A Dream"
Peter Bogdanovich, video director; Skot Bright, video producer

The most prevalent on-screen music video moment, however, was a spot for Project Rising Stars: The Lincoln Music Video Challenge. Budding filmmakers at online community Filmaka had been called upon to submit pitches for music videos that would feature the Lincoln MKS. Eleven of the approximate 300 entries were commissioned for $7,500 each, with five of the resulting videos getting airtime as 30 second Lincoln spots during the Grammys telecast.
