With The Directors Label DVD series apparently in limbo since the 2005 fourpack celebrating the work of video directors Anton Corbijn, Jonathan Glazer, Mark Romanek and Stephane Sednaoui, series producer Richard Brown has teamed with director Brett Ratner to executive produce The Shooter Series, a new line of DVDs celebrating the work of music video directors.
The first honoree is Ratner himself, with a deluxe DVD release compiling some his best know videos plus lots of bonus content. Highlights include:
- Over 20 Brett Ratner music videos with optional directors commentary. Hit clips include Madonna "Beautiful Stranger," Foxy Brown f/ Jay-Z "I'll Be," Jessica Simpson "These Boots Are Made For Walkin," several videos for Mariah Carey and other artists.
- A collection of commercials and short films directed by Ratner — including rarities from his NYU college days and even earlier.
- A featurette on the director, plus a 32 page collectible book
Director Brett Ratner; The Shooter Series: Volume 1 is for sale today through Amazon.com and other retailers. A second volume honoring F. Gary Gray is coming soon.
