How to make an underwater video with tips/tricks from director Gustavo de la Torre:
1) Don't let anyone drown — "We practiced a lot with the band because even something as simple as keeping your eyes open can be complicated when you are concentrating on playing a song underwater. And since the video was filmed in a pool owned by the guitar player, it was a controled environment and everything was pretty safe."
2) Don't ruin your cameras — "We used a GoPro in the underwater case it comes with for the open angular shots. The second camera was a Canon 60D inside an EWA-Marine underwater case. It's like a ziplock bag made specially for DSLRs that gives you the ability to record underwater without sacrificing image quality (and you can use any lens you want)."
3) Don't let the band use their "real" gear — "All the instruments get ruined by the water, so the band had to buy cheap used ones in order to film inside the pool." (And just in case: Don't plug any of the instruments in. That would be bad)
