Also, new MVPA president Fuliane Petikyan provided a welcome statement for the MV community:

I wanted to take a moment to say hello to everyone in the music video community. Not only have I have had the pleasure to meet and work with many of you, but many of you are dear friends. And the rest of you who I haven't met, I look forward to meeting.

First and foremost, I want you all to know that I really love the music video community. You are a special group of people and you constantly inspire me. From directors, dp’s, art directors, stylists to colorists and editors. I know you all love what you do despite all the current state of the music video industry. I am no different and this is the reason I took on this role as President of the MVPA. The most common complaint I've heard through my years is, “What has the MVPA done for our industry?” I took on this new role, as I want to bring about positive change. But to do that, I am going to need your help.

Unless our community becomes a strong, healthy, united community, it will continue to decline. But one thing I have learned, music videos aren't going anywhere, and neither are the people who make them. Just know now the difference is you have a strong board of members and someone as President who is ready to make real changes.

I believe our combined efforts will lead us to be a strong positive community of professional filmmakers who love their craft. Our unity is imperative to our industry and I hope that you will take a moment to think about how important your involvement is in being a member.

I look forward to hearing much more from all of you and heading the many changes needed that will benefit our community in my tenure as President. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me @ [email protected].
