Lawrence Rothman "Montauk Fling" (Floria Sigismondi, dir.)

Depending on your age and geography, Montauk either brings to mind images of Hamptons preppy chic, or the working-class fisherman enclave that it was for so long (or, if you're Mick Jagger, you think of Memory Motel). Director Floria Sigismondi isn't one to go for the preppy look, and she certainly wouldn't be who you'd turn to for an homage to the Downeaster Alexa. Instead we get something that feels in the same creative pocket as her most recent work. Also worth noting is that it's the first release in support of her own record label, Mamaroma. --> watch "Montauk Fling" via Nowness
