Two years ago, Portland released their first single 'Deezy Daisy' and instantly became the 'sensation du jour’.
A few million streams later and a co-sign from Kitsune, the band from Metz surprisingly decided to split.
After a year hiatus, reinvigorated by more life experiences, the trio reconnected and returned stronger with a new artistic project more in keeping with their true nature.
‘Aphrodite’ is the first track from a debut EP due in September. It explores the topics of fear, doubt, hope and acceptance - feelings that boil in all of us and that the members encountered themselves during their search of their true voice.
Directed by Quentin & Julien, the video perfectly illustrates this inner fight with a contemporary urban dancer on a boxing ring becoming more and more tormented by the minute. Disturbing, beautiful; simply so intense.
Darker than their shiny debut, this new direction showcases more depth and maturity in Portland’s art, promising this new beginning to be one of a long road!
