A completely accurate and not at all surreal depiction of how hit records are made, from inspiration to distribution to promotion. It's a hell of a ride, until the world finds out the song was stolen from a pop band in Manila.
PS: I'm not sure how Michael "brother of Steve" Buscemi fits into the overall plot, but he's fantastic nonetheless.
Michael K. Williams aka Chalky White aka Omar aka bad motherfucker kicks an enormous amount of ass in a video that starts off like a Breaking Bad episode, but then blossoms into something much weirder, yet equally affecting and amazing.
I like to think this video is directly inspired by S.O.D. "What's That Noise," but maybe that's just my inner metalhead popping out. What's undeniable, however, is the Flight Of The Conchords charm and sci-fi paranoia that drive an MGMT album trailer that could serve as a demo reel for any TV producers looking for a trippier version of the Monkees.
This video is nothing but truth, matching up with the song as exactly as possible in terms of the lyrics, the imagery and even the sound itself. That said, it's also delightfully weird and probably looks nothing like the life you lead.
