Called DROME, the story leads you into a the hedonistic underbelly of a future world populated with the underrepresented underdogs of a former world, where oppressed and othered are allowed a space to grow their most freakish and fucked-up selves. It includes cameos from artists featured in the new issue of SORT including New York-based industrial artist (and Dior/Helmut Lang/HBA model) No Bra, London-based noise duo naked and Brooke Candy. Plus an original sound score by Naked.
Debut music video and single for Tom Forest’s Summer, joining forces with recently formed production company Pavilion Works. This performance video by directors Morgan and Jake looked at injecting the classic recording studio setup with some simple slick light play and homages to Jeff Buckley’s Grace.
LEZ are very proud to share Ilona McIlwain’s directing debut. The film, commissioned by the Tate Modern in partnership with BMW, features a unique performance by 72 year old Japanese actor and performer Min Tanaka. The setting, an incredible fog sculpture by Fujiko Nakaya, provides an eerie and surreal setting for a mesmerising performance.
Complimented by sound from world renowned Ryuichi Sakamoto who scored The Revenant and Ghost in the Shell and lighting by Shiro Takatani from Japanese art collective Dumb Type.
Romano Pizzicihini’s video for ‘Beyond the Wizards Sleeve’ by Black Crows explores the eery tension between two tennis students. Romano describes this tension as, “constantly teetering between innocence and brutality, but shot in a matter of fact way.”
