Passion Pit

Feed The Beat, Feed The Beast: Passion Pit Doc Directed by Sam Jones for Taco Bell

This nearly hourlong documentary directed by Sam Jones — who you know from the Wilco movie I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, plus great videos for Mumford & Sons, John Mayer, and others — serves dual purposes. You get to feed your hunger for insight into alternative stars Passion Pit (and up-and-comers Wildcat! Wildcat!), and Taco Bell gets to feed their need to reach a market that may not respond to talking chihuahuas.

Not a bad trade.

If you're gonna have subtitles in a music video you might as well have fun with them. And directing team Brewer certainly does that but only after sucking you into a dysfunctional and surreal, yet strangely real love/hate relationship between Michael Angelakos and actress Sophia Bush.

Passion Pit - Carried Away (Tiësto Remix)

Nothing like powdered substance to help you get carried away. In this case, some fun loving youngsters get insanely kinetic via colorful granules that cause them to physically split apart and defy gravity and physics. Things get progressively weirder — the splitting effect soon jumps to inanimate objects, adding transmogrifying properties along the way — but the party keeps on raging.
